BACKGROUND Transcranial pulsed-current stimulation (tPCS) is a new non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) technique that is purported to exert both neuromodulatory and entrainment effect on the brain. However, the evidence for tPCS to affect cognitive behaviors remain limited. OBJECTIVE This proposed study aims to assess the effectiveness of 400Hz high-frequency anodal transcranial pulsed current stimulation (400Hz HF-atPCS) compared to an active and sham control in improving executive functioning (EF) and modulating neural activity between younger and older adults as age is a factor affecting EF.
